This Privacy Policy explains how Billox collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Billox app and related services. Billox is a subscription tracking and bill management app for Android identified in the app files as app.billox.

1. Information We Collect

Billox collects information you provide directly, information created through your use of the app, and limited technical data needed to operate the service.

Account information

When you create or use a Billox account, Billox may process your email address, authentication data, account session details, display name, and profile photo or avatar if you add one.

Subscription and billing information

Billox stores the subscription records you add or manage in the app, including service names, prices, currency, billing cycle, renewal dates, trial dates, category, notes, logos, reminder settings, and subscription status.

Imported data from optional scanning features

If you choose to use smart import tools, Billox may process:

  • Email-derived subscription information from an optional Gmail connection and scan.
  • Images, PDFs, or receipt content that you choose to upload for receipt parsing.
  • Confidence scores and extracted subscription details generated from those scans.

Family-sharing and invited member information

If you use family-sharing features, Billox may process email addresses for invited members and the invitation status tied to those invites.

Device, settings, and usage preferences

Billox stores settings and preference data such as theme choice, selected display currency, notification preferences, scheduled reminder state, and other app configuration values required for the experience.

2. How Billox Uses Information

Billox uses collected information to:

  • Create and maintain user accounts and sessions.
  • Display your subscriptions, totals, upcoming renewals, trials, and budget insights.
  • Import subscription information from emails or receipts when you request it.
  • Schedule and deliver local renewal reminders and trial alerts if you enable notifications.
  • Support profile features such as avatars, display name, export, and settings.
  • Operate premium or subscription-related account features where available.
  • Maintain reliability, prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues, and improve the service.

3. Permissions and Device Features

Billox only uses device features that are relevant to the app experience or to features you choose to turn on.

  • Internet access: used to sign in, sync account data, load backend features, and support app services.
  • Notifications: used to send local reminders about trials, renewals, and upcoming charges if you grant permission.
  • Images, files, or camera input: used only if you choose to upload or capture a receipt or document for scanning.
  • Email connection: used only if you choose to connect Gmail for subscription detection.

4. Third-Party Services and Sharing

Billox uses third-party services to run parts of the app. This may include service providers that process data on Billox’s behalf for infrastructure or optional feature delivery.

  • Supabase: used for authentication, database storage, file storage, and backend functions.
  • Google / Gmail: used only if you connect your Gmail account for optional email scanning.
  • Advertising services: some supported experiences may load ad services or ad configuration, which may be governed by those providers’ own privacy terms.

Billox may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer if the service changes ownership.

5. Data Storage, Security, and Retention

Billox stores information for as long as it is reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce terms.

  • Account and subscription records are generally kept while your account remains active.
  • Uploaded receipt content or imported scan data may be retained as needed to complete the feature you requested.
  • Local preference data and reminder state may also be stored on your device.

Billox uses commercially reasonable measures to help protect stored information, but no service can guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Choices and Controls

You can manage your information in several ways:

  • Edit or remove subscriptions directly in the app.
  • Enable or disable reminders and notification preferences in the app.
  • Use export tools, where available, to download your subscription data.
  • Delete all subscription data from the settings screen.
  • Delete your account from the settings screen, which is designed to remove related account data handled by the app.
  • Disconnect or stop using optional features such as email scan, receipt scan, family sharing, or profile image upload.

7. Children’s Privacy

Billox is not intended for children under 13, and Billox does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the service, use the official support contact available in the Billox app or store listing to request review and deletion.

8. Changes to This Policy

Billox may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If the policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
